This was excellent! I was riveted, uncomfortable, disturbed. I was confused for a bit there, because I thought she was going to slice off her hands somehow, and how was a potion going to do that? Also, her wanting to rip LV's throat out and taste the the tang seemed over the top for this story. But I especially liked how purposeful, calm, quiet and focused she seemed. In spite of the violence of her act, the whole atmosphere seemed still and quiet. It reminded me a bit of Alice_IW's 'Academic Curiosity'. There's a chapter in there that's similar to this (but plot-wise very different . Great job.

This line really hit home for me: "a tiny sliver of what she saw directed at her was awe".
Once again you do a good job of portraying the mature woman Hermione is growing up to be and her calm almost contentment in the face of what she's done comes through clearly ending this piece rather hopefully.
