“Severus! What a surprise! I thought you had disappeared from the face of this earth…How did you manage to escape Miss Harebrain’s clutches for five minutes, however?”

“Not Harebrain, Hermione. Her name is Herbane-not that it matters anymore.”

“Sev, you aren’t going to marry her, are you?”

“Now, why-oh, I understand. No, I’m not going to marry her. In fact, I broke up with her yesterday.”

“Congratulations and welcome back to the world of adult human beings.”

“Er… yes, well, I suppose I deserved that. Listen, Hermione, I wanted to apologize…”

“Oh, really? What for?”

“You know exactly what for. I’ve been neglecting you, and you deserve better. I’m truly sorry.”

“It’s okay, Sev. As you can see, I survived.”
